Shannon Lansdowne

Born and Raised on the Central Coast of British Columbia; Shannon Lansdowne has always been surrounded by the hunting industry. Her father Leonard Ellis owned one of the largest outfitting territories in British Columbia; Bella Coola Outfitting Company. Growing up on the BC Coast she was exposed to hunting and fishing both personally and professionally. Upon completion of high school she committed her time to working in the family business. Starting as a deckhand on board the MV Pacific Grizzly; her duties consisted of keeping the vessel shipshape to skinning and prepping hunters trophies for taxidermy. After a short time of deck handing she moved on to guiding hunters from around the world in pursuit of Grizzly Bear, Black Bear, Mountain Goat and Wolves. During summer months you would find Shannon trolling with guests in search of the next big Spring Salmon on the outer BC Coast.    A couple years into her guiding career her father sold the outfitting business and Shannon was at a loss on what to do next; she attending post secondary education taking various business courses and completing a Tourism Marketing Management Program. From there she developed additional skills and worked various office jobs in the lower mainland of BC; however she knew her heart was in the outdoors.    In pursuit of a life back in the Hunting Industry she submitted her application to the Extreme Huntress Contest in 2015. To her surprise she made the semi finals, then the Finals and after proving herself to both the judges and the hunting community she won the title of Extreme Huntress 2016.
